OECD Workshop (2018)
In October 2018 I was invited to provide the keynote presentation to an workshop organised by OECD and the Minister of Science and ICT, South Korea on the topic of “Strengthening linkages between STI and ODA policies in order to address the grand challenges and promote inclusive growth”.
My presentation built upon the discussions from the Nairobi Workshop (above) and has five main themes that were suggested as necessary to ensure that research, education and development worked together to deliver sustainable development. These were:
- Ask the right questions;
- Change the way we work;
- Innovation in research for development;
- Create the necessary enabling environment;
- Working together, science and development communities.
